Definitive Guide to Audials One Alternatives (2019)
Audials One has been generally improved but is there any better Audials One alternatives? Yes, alternatives do exist. Read on to know about them!

Making home music mixes has been a thing in the past, but still applicable these days. Audials One enables you to make home mixes by recording music while at home from various sources. Audials One can be able to pull music from online radios, Spotify, or even YouTube. And it is not just for movies alone; you can also capture movies and TV shows and have them locally on your drive.

In today’s age, much of the content that we consume is usually from streaming services, which is a great thing, especially for those with high-bandwidth unlimited WiFi at home. Watching streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Hulu is cool. But there is a limitation. As much as these services serve you well at home, you cannot rely on them when traveling.

Downloading the media content, you consume offline on your laptop is not possible with most of these services. You have to seek an alternative. At this point is where Audials One comes in.

Audials One has defined this space well since its inception. Especially this year’s version has been added with the capability to search from YouTube songs, making it easier than waiting for them to be played on a radio station or TV channel. But the program has its downsides also.

Audials One has been generally improved but is there any better Audials One alternatives? You may ask. Yes, alternatives do exist.

Definitive Guide to Audials One Alternatives (2019)

Disadvantages of Audials One

One of the most unsatisfying features about Audials One is the cluttered interface, especially on the home screen. Although the 2019 version has tried to declutter the home screen, there is still much that needs to be done.

Another disadvantage of the app is subscription-based payment plans. The app offers free versions on mobile and PC but with limited functionality. Pricing packages include Gold subscription for $3.99/month ($39.99/year) or use a one-time payment of $59.99 valid until 2020. It is one of the most expensive audio conversion and video conversion program out there.

So, here a list of alternatives to Audials One that you can try out.

We shall dive into Audials One alternatives for downloading and converting music.

Alternatives to Audials One

1. Audials Tunebite Platinum

The first alternative is Audials Tunebite Platinum. The program sports several features that make it easy to grasp the second sweet spot as an impressive audio conversion tool. Audials Tunebite Platinum features the capability to record music, convert and enjoy protected Music, Streams & Audio-books.

It’s just limitless. It also has the functionality to strip and convert DVD copier which is a non-existent feature with regular audio converters. The strongest point of Audials Tunebite Platinum is that it can supports conversion of over 40 import formats and can convert to 11 different output formats. Plus, the software also enables you to extract audio from video files as well as record video from streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The only bummer about Audials Tunebite Platinum is its lack of support for Mac. Besides, the user interface is also a bit intimidating for a first-timer. For those with Macs, Audials Tunebite Platinum is not meant for you. Another turn off could be the price – it will set you back by $39.90 per year. But if your budget can stretch to this price point, we find Audials Tunebite Platinum a great alternative. Critical features of Audials One include:

  • Music converter.
  • Audio-book.
  • ID3 tagging incl. lyrics, album artwork.
  • Supports 40 Audio File Formats
  • Media manager with Music Universe.
  • A Player with visual playlists.
  • Cloud manager.
  • DVD and CD recorder.

2. Format Factory Portable

Format Factory is another excellent audio converter you can go for. From the naming, the program is lightweight and portable as advertised. It packs an intuitive user interface that makes it easy to use independent of the user experience levels. Format Factory does not need installation – it is portable – hence cuts much of the installation hassle. But that does not mean the program performs poorly; It can convert multiple common file types like MP4, MPG, MP3, AVI, 3GP, WAV, FLV, MKV, MPG, VOB, SWF and even animated GIF formats. With its capability to run entirely from a USB memory stick, Format Factory still manages to extract DVD and CD audio tracks, merge video and audio files plus it can also multiplex and query metadata.

3. Switch Audio Converter

Switch Audio Converter is excellent. But just like any other software, it has its cons too. But we shall leave aside the negatives for now. Switch Audio converter turns out as the fastest audio converter you will ever use. The program features a batch converter allowing one to stack up to thousands of files in queue for conversion. That makes it easy for you to relax, maybe take a nap and check the progress at a later time.

What is even good is Switch Audio Converter can convert more than 40 file formats. And since availability also matters, Switch is available on both Mac and Windows – two of the major desktop clients.

The downside Switch Audio Converter comes with is the hefty price tag than average audio converters, and it can’t record streaming video. Plus, the user interface looks obsolete.

Switch Audio Converter goes at $24.99.

4. Freemake Audio Converter

Freemake Audio Converter, unlike Switch and Audials Tunebite, has a limitation to the number of input file formats supported. But that comes with its advantages. The program is free, which makes it hard to beat, for people who are not much of audiophiles in that matter. The User interface is built and makes it so much easier to get hold of the software functionalities. It is easy. Choose the type of file you want to convert, choose the output format then hit the convert button.

The software supports over 50 import formats and can output only eight formats – a bummer. Since it’s free, there is nothing to bash about the program. You still get to convert your files most conveniently although the time factor will be daunting owing to the sluggish conversion speed. It has support for older Windows versions also like Windows 8, and 7 which should quench the sentiments a bit.

As usual to freeware, the installation process always tries to trick users into installing other programs. Freemake Audio converter is no different. The program might try to install another program during setup, also. So, watch out and be sure to uncheck that option in the setup process.

5. Xilisoft Audio Converter

With its intuitive and simple User interface, Xilisoft has become an easy alternative as an audio converter. The program is simple to use with its straightforward models of converting audio. It can be able to extract audio from standard file formats like MPEG, AVI, AVCHD, AVC, MKV, MOV WMV, MP4, and many others. Like Switch Audio Converter, Xilisoft also has a batch convert feature for multiple file conversion.

It can also be able to convert audio files from CDs which is a handy tool.

Apart from audio conversion Xilisoft also lets you adjust the sample rate and bitrate before you start conversion. Besides, you can also add effects to audio like echo, fade-in, fade-out, volume normalize, bandpass, chorus, flanger, etc. and Adjust Output Parameter and even edit ID3 Tags.

Xilisoft is priced at $29.95 per year. The program is available exclusively on Windows from the obsolete Microsoft® Windows XP (SP2 or later), Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and the new Windows 10.

6. Stellar Audio Video Converter

Stellar Audio and Video Converter is another alternative to Audials One. Both video and audio can be converted by this program, unlike most programs listed above. Stellar is simple and thus doesn’t need any user manuals to perform your file conversion. You will be able to perform your first conversion in a breeze. Standard audio formats supported include MP3, WAV, FLAC, and ACC. Video file formats supported include M4V, MOV, MP4, MPG, and WMV. But the list is more. We are naming a few.

The strongest point of Stellar is the easy to use user interface, and the program also supports 15 different output file formats. The only deal-breaker on Stellar is the lack of audio normalization, but we guess that is not that important to some people. Sadly, there is also no audio adjustment options which is a bummer, especially when dealing with old audio or video with volume issues.

7. MediaHuman Audio Converter

MediaHuman sports is also a great alternative. We find the program easy to use thanks to its Easy-to-use user interface. It supports several common file formats in both input and output. Some input formats supported include AAC, AC3, AIF, AIFF, ALAW, AMR, APE, AU, AWB, CAF, DSF, DTS, FLAC, M4A, M4B, M4R, MP2, MP3, MPC, OGG, OPUS, and more.

Examples of outputs supported include AAC, AC3, AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, M4R, MP3, OGG, OPUS, to name a few. Main features in MediaHuman include Batch conversion, support for lossless formats like OGG and FLAC, iTunes support, automatic CUE splitting and you can also search for disk covers. Like Freemake Audio Converter, you can also merge multiple files into one. MediaHuman is compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows.

8. VSDC Free Audio Converter

VSDC supports multiple file formats like most programs listed above. The software is free, and this makes it an excellent alternative considering the built-in functionality. The interface has been arranged in a tab-like manner that is not that hard to use. VSDC includes a tag editor that lets you edit audio tags like author, album, genre among others. Another great functionality we’ve found handy in VSDC is the ability to listen to an audio file before conversion.

It supports up to 9 file output formats including AAC, AIFF, AMR, AU, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, and WMA. Common input files supported include M4A, MP2, MP3, MP4 and WAV among others. It also includes advanced features that let you tweak the output quality like frequency, and bitrate. You can also delete an audio fragment from a file.

Like MediaHuman, VSDC is a freeware, and it will also try to install other applications along the installation process. VSDC is compatible with all Windows operating systems. Again, sorry Mac users.

Audials One alternatives summary

If you already use Audials One, there are many options you can switch to – if you wish to. However, before you do that ensure to gauge the various software listed above considering their strengths and limitations. If you want to get similar functionality, Audials Tunebite Platinum stands as a great alternative. But the pricing is a bit flush.

See, there are other great Audials One alternatives you can opt for too, like Switch Audio Converter which offers more than just enough for $24.99 a year. Which we know can be expensive for some. We included other great alternatives that are strictly free like Freemake video/audio converter.

Freemake is free and has two versions – a video and an audio converter. The video converter works excellent with the ability to download and convert video from YouTube, Vimeo, Vevo, Dailymotion, etc. You can also pull audio from YouTube videos and convert them to either MP3, MP4, AVI, WMV, MKV, and even 3GP. We could recommend Freemake Audio/Video converter, but Mac users are obviously left out.

So, these are some of the factors you should take into account before settling on a single program – especially the paid ones. As always know your needs first since there is always something for everyone. We have already offered you a great selection of Audials One alternatives you can choose from. Feel free to try them out.
